For the Sherwin Williams “Spectrum of Excellence” awards dinner, there was a great deal of planning that went into the design for the event. Truss with custom made panels made up the screen surround for the projection screens to give it a more formal look. The wood podium was also custom made to include a display screen. The gold curtain definitely catches your eye and draws attention to the stage.
US Conference Of Mayors
The US Conference of Mayors was a quintessential event that utilized multiple technical elements. The General Session required large LED walls and a nice balance between the lighting and video content made the scenic pieces on stage blend seamlessly together. Patriotic lighting, projection screens, and more LED walls were set-up for an evening reception on the USS Missouri at Pearl Harbor.
Aulani Cast Party
The Aulani Cast Party is the perfect example that with the right equipment and set-up, any space can be turned into an exciting event space, even a pool deck. Moving lights and LED walls with custom graphics helped to create the “Frozen” themed atmosphere. Setting up the DJ in the pool always makes for an interesting element to a dance party.
The Virtual Venue
The COVID-19 pandemic put many aspects of our life on “hold.” We, as technicians, are not the only ones that depend on corporate events and conventions as a source of revenue. Many local musicians often serve as the talent for these events. In that time, they also lost gigs playing in restaurants and bars with restrictions being placed on those businesses as well. We set-up our Stageline SL100 mobile stage, added moving lights, audio, and a couple of fog machines to create a professional performance space for our local artists. The weekly concert series was live streamed on our Facebook page, which helped to reach audiences beyond Hawaii. Viewers were able to make monetary donations during and after the broadcast and 100% of the proceeds went to the artists.
I'm A Bright Kid Livestream
Live theatrical productions were also in “intermission” because of COVID-19. But as every performer knows, “The show must go on.” The I’m A Bright Kid Foundation typically produced a full-stage musical every year, which was not an option during the pandemic. The creative team decided on a revue-style show to celebrate the Foundation’s 5-year anniversary and to highlight musical numbers from their various productions. The show was live streamed from the historic Hawaii Theater Center and comprised of live and pre-recorded performances.
